Tractography

Alright kiddo, imagine your brain as a giant traffic map with roads and highways connecting different parts of it. Tractography is like a special tool that scientists use to trace the pathways of these roads and highways so they can understand how information travels around your brain.

To do this, scientists use a technique called diffusion MRI, which allows them to look at water molecules in your brain. These water molecules move differently depending on the structure of the roads and highways they are traveling on. Tractography takes this information and creates a colorful 3D map of your brain's roadways.

With the help of tractography, scientists can understand the connections between different brain regions and how they work together to help you think, move, and feel. It's like looking at a map to understand how different cities are connected and how people and goods move between them. Tractography helps us better understand the incredible complexity of the human brain.
