ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tradesman

A tradesman is like someone who is really, really good at making or fixing things with their hands. You know how you like to build with blocks or play with Legos? Well, that's kind of what a tradesman does all day, but with real tools and materials.

For example, think about your bedroom furniture. Someone had to build your bed, your dresser, and your bookshelf before you could put your toys and books on them. That someone is likely a tradesman. They would have learned how to use tools like hammers, saws, drills, and screwdrivers to make sure everything is put together just right.

Or, if your sink breaks and the water won't go down the drain, you would call a plumbing tradesman. They know how to use tools to fix the pipes and make the water go where it's supposed to go.

Basically, a tradesman is someone who uses their hands and tools to make or fix things that we need in our everyday lives. They might be carpenters, electricians, mechanics, masons, or any number of skilled professions. And, they take pride in their work, just like you take pride in your Lego creations.
