Transactional analysis is a way of understanding how people communicate with each other. It can help us understand why people do and say the things they do and how we can better communicate with them. In transactional analysis we focus on the transactions, or exchanges, that take place during conversations. In these exchanges, people take turns communicating by speaking and listening. We use our words and body language to talk to each other and these exchanges help us form relationships and make decisions. Transactional analysis teaches us about how we think and behave in our conversations, and how we can improve our communication with the people around us.
