ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Transitive set

A transitive set is like a collection of toys. Imagine you have a box full of toys, but the special thing about this box is that each toy has other toys attached to it. For example, a toy truck might have a toy driver inside, and that driver might have a toy hat, and so on.

Now, a transitive set is like a box of toys where if you have one toy, then you have all the toys that are attached to it. So, let's say you have a toy truck in your box, and it has a driver inside. Well, if you have the toy truck, then you also have the toy driver, and anything else that the driver might have.

In terms of math, a transitive set is a collection of objects where if you have one object in the set, then you have all the objects that are contained within it. This can be really helpful when we're trying to organize big sets of information, like all of the numbers from 1 to 10, or all of the different types of animals in the world. It's like we can group things together in a really organized way, because we know that if we have one part of the group, then we have all of it.
