Trig point

A trig point is like a special spot that people have marked on the ground, especially on really high hills or mountains. It helps people figure out exactly where they are, and it's also used for maps and surveying.

Imagine you are playing hide and seek, and your friend tells you to meet them at the big tree in the park. That big tree is kind of like a trig point - it's a recognizable and important spot that you can use to find your way.

Trig points are usually made of concrete or stone, and they have a flat top with a metal plate on it. Sometimes they are also shaped like pyramids or cylinders. You might see lots of numbers and letters written on the metal plate - this is because surveyors use these markers to measure and calculate distances and angles between different points on a map.

Overall, a trig point is a very handy tool that helps people know where they are and where they need to go when exploring the outdoors.
