Tunable metamaterials

Metamaterials are materials that have special properties because they are made up of many different small pieces put together. Tunable metamaterials are special kinds of metamaterials that can change their properties depending on how they are put together. For example, if the pieces are arranged in a certain way, it can make the metamaterials more reflective of certain kinds of light waves than others. It's like if you had a bunch of Legos that you could rearrange in different ways to make different kinds of things, but instead of making a car or a house, you could make something that could affect how light travels through it.
