Turboshaft

A turboshaft is an engine that takes energy from hot gases and uses it to create energy that can turn a shaft, like a rotor in an helicopter. It works by pushing compressed air through a cylinder, which forces the air to be very hot. Then it spins a turbine that links to the rotor in the helicopter. The spinning turbine powers the rotor and makes the helicopter fly.
