ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Turning diameter

Imagine you have a bicycle wheel. When you turn the handlebars left or right, the wheel moves in the same direction. The size of the turn the wheel makes is called its turning diameter.

If you turn the handlebars a little bit, the wheel will make a small turn and the turning diameter will be small. If you turn the handlebars a lot, the wheel will make a big turn and the turning diameter will be big.

The turning diameter is important because it tells you how much space you need to turn your bike around. If you have a small turning diameter, you can turn your bike in a small space, like on a narrow street. But if you have a big turning diameter, you need more space to turn your bike around.

So, the turning diameter is like a measurement of how much space you need to turn your bike. The smaller the turning diameter, the less space you need.
