So imagine two babies growing in one mom's tummy. Sometimes, the blood vessels that connect these babies can cause trouble. One baby might get more blood than it needs, and the other baby might not get enough blood. This is called twin-twin transfusion syndrome.
The baby that gets too much blood might have too much fluid around it and might be bigger than the other baby. The baby that doesn't get enough blood might have too little fluid around it and might be smaller than the other baby.
Luckily, doctors can help these babies by doing a special surgery while they are still in their mom's tummy. They put a tiny camera and tools into the mom's belly and fix the blood vessels that are causing trouble. Then, both babies can grow and be healthy.
