Now, in some modern day beliefs and stories, a Valkyrie is often portrayed as a female superhero who is really strong and brave. She is often a member of a team of superhero characters who work together to save people and fight bad guys.

Sometimes, Valkyries are also seen as divine beings who can choose which people go to a special place called Valhalla after they die. Valhalla is kind of like a really cool heaven where brave warriors go to party and live happily ever after.
