ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Vertical farming

Vertical farming is a way of growing food inside tall buildings instead of outside in the ground. It's like having a big skyscraper made of gardens instead of offices and apartments. Instead of planting crops in the ground and watering them with rain, vertical farmers use technology to make sure their plants always have the perfect amount of water, light, and nutrients. They also might use LED lights to make sure the plants get the right amount of sunlight, and hydroponics to provide the plants with water and nutrients. This way, vertical farmers can grow food all year round, no matter what the weather is like outside.
