Arcology is a combination of the words “architecture” and “ecology”. It describes a kind of self-sustaining city that is enclosed and uses natural resources, like sunlight and plants, to provide energy, food and air for the people living inside it. Arcology cities are designed to use only the resources that it has, instead of relying on energy or food from the outside world. Some of the resources recycled in an arcology city could include plants, water, and even waste. Inside the city, there would be plants growing, stores to shop, homes to live in and areas to work.
