Urban ecology

Urban ecology is the study of the plants and animals that live in cities and towns. In urban areas, plants and wildlife have to adapt to living around people and the changes that humans have made to the environment. By studying urban ecology, scientists are able to learn how different species respond to living in cities and how cities can be designed better to help plants and animals thrive.
