ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Veteran car

Imagine you have a really old car, like one that your great-great-grandparents used to drive. Now imagine that car is over 100 years old! That's what we call a veteran car.

These cars were first made a long time ago and were used by people who wanted to travel long distances without having to walk or ride a horse. They were powered by a special kind of fuel called gasoline, which made them faster than anything else on the road at the time.

Veteran cars look very different from the cars we see on the road today. They have big metal wheels, and the steering wheel is much taller than in modern cars. They also don't have electronic screens or fancy gadgets like today's cars; instead, you have to use your own eyes and ears to tell you how fast you're going, or what the engine is doing.

People still love to own and drive veteran cars today, even though they can be very tricky to take care of. That's because they're very special, and remind us of how cars used to be a long, long time ago!
