ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Virtual retinal display

Virtual Retinal Display (VRD) is a type of technology that projects images directly onto your retina - the back of your eye - to create the same effect as you were looking at a screen. Instead of light passing through a lens like a regular display, the light is beamed directly into your eye. This makes the images look more vibrant and realistic, like you're actually in the environment. You can look around the image naturally and move your head to explore the scene.
