ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

VistaVision

Okay kiddo, have you ever watched a movie? Movies have a special camera that records the images that we see on the screen. Vistavision is a type of camera that was used a long time ago to make movies.

Now, the special thing about the Vistavision camera is that it could record much bigger and higher-quality images than other cameras. It did this by using a big film negative that was almost twice as big as the regular film used in other cameras.

Think of it like drawing a really big picture instead of a small one. The bigger the picture, the more detail you can put in it, right? Well, that's kind of how Vistavision worked. By using a bigger film negative, it could capture more detail and make the movies look even better on the big screen.

So whenever you see an old movie and it looks especially clear and beautiful, it might be because they used a Vistavision camera to make it. Pretty cool, huh?
