The Volhynian Genocide was a terrible event that happened during World War II when Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland. At the time, the Volhynian area was part of Poland. During the invasion, the Nazis and Soviets decided to work together to try and get rid of Polish people from this area. To do this, they killed anyone who was Polish, stole their property, and forced people to flee. As a result, about 100,000 Polish people were killed in this area and thousands more were displaced from their homes. It was a horrible time and a terrible loss of innocent lives.
