ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Warm front

Okay kiddo, let me tell you about warm fronts. Imagine a big blanket of warm air coming towards you, while you are standing outside in the cold. As the warm air mass moves forward, it pushes and lifts up the colder, denser air in front of it. This lifting makes the air cooler and sometimes creates clouds and rain.

So, when a warm front comes through, it usually makes the temperature warmer and brings rain or snow, depending on the season. You might notice that the clouds look fluffy and bright, but sometimes they can also look dark and stormy. When the front passes, the weather usually becomes sunnier and clearer.

Overall, a warm front is like a big hug from warm air that makes the weather better, but sometimes it can be a little rainy or snowy. So next time you see a warm front coming, you can look forward to warmer and brighter days ahead!
