Okay kiddo, have you ever built a sandcastle at the beach and noticed that the water keeps coming up to the castle and washing it away? That's because of something called waves.
Now, keep that in mind and imagine a big rock near the beach. Waves keep hitting the rock over and over again for many years. Over time, these waves cause the rock to wear away, little by little.
Eventually, the rock becomes a flat surface that's a bit lower than the original height. This flat surface is called a wave-cut platform.
So, in simple words, a wave-cut platform is a long flat area formed by the waves of the sea slowly eroding the rock over many years. Just like a sandcastle that slowly gets washed away by the waves, a wave-cut platform gets formed by the waves over time.
