Whitewashing (censorship)

Whitewashing is when people intentionally remove or change parts of a story that they don't like or agree with. It can be done by editing movies, books, or articles. It is a way to censor what people can see and hear. For example, if a movie was based on a true story, the filmmakers might leave out parts they don't like or that they think are too scary or uncomfortable. This is whitewashing. It is a way to control what people know.
