The wildland–urban interface (WUI) is an area where human development is close to or during natural areas, like forests or other types of wildland. This can include things like houses, businesses, or farms. In these places, people and nature often interact with one another. This can be dangerous, because if a wildfire were to start in these areas, it could spread to people's homes, businesses, and farms quickly. To help prevent this, governments and organizations have created special plans to make sure that people and nature can live safely together in these areas.
