The Wilhelmshaven Mutiny was a rebellion in the German navy in 1918. It was caused by the Navy's high command deciding to go to sea for one last battle against the British, even though Germany was losing World War I. This made the sailors very unhappy, and many of them refused to go on the mission. They refused to listen to the orders of their officers and some even destroyed their ship's guns. The mutiny spread to other ships in Wilhelmshaven, and the German government had to send in thousands of troops to put an end to it. Although it did not change the outcome of the war, this mutiny showed Europeans that the soldiers were no longer willing to follow orders to fight in a war they could not win.
