ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Wyclif

Wyclif was a man who lived a long time ago in England. He was very interested in religion and wanted people to understand what the Bible said. He wrote a lot about it and even translated the Bible into English, so more people could read and understand it. This was a big deal because back then, the Bible was usually only in Latin, which was hard for most people to read or understand. Wyclif also believed that people didn't need to go through the church to talk to God, they could do it on their own. This made some people upset because the church was very powerful and didn't want to lose its power. Even after Wyclif died, his ideas continued to spread and influence some important movements in history.
