ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Yanacona language

Okay kiddo, there's a language called Yanacona that some people in South America speak. Yanacona is a way for people to talk to each other, just like how you and I talk to each other in English.

One thing that's special about Yanacona is that it's part of a group of languages called Quechuan. Quechuan languages are really old, they were spoken by ancient people who lived in the Andes mountains a long, long time ago.

People who speak Yanacona have words and phrases that are different from other languages. For example, instead of saying "hello" like we do in English, they might say "amiku". Yanacona also uses different sounds and letters than the English alphabet.

It's really cool to think about how people can communicate in so many different ways around the world. And who knows, maybe one day you'll even learn to speak Yanacona or another language!
