Yoke

The yoke is a wooden or metal device that farmers would use to connect two animals like oxen or horses together so they could work together as a team. The yoke would sit on the shoulders of each animal and would have a bar in the middle that would connect them. This way, they could pull heavy things like plows or carts together to get work done faster. It's like when you hold hands with a friend and walk together--you can go farther and faster when you work together just like the animals do with the yoke.
