Zamindar

Okay, so a zamindar is someone who used to own a big piece of land a long time ago in India. It's like having a really big backyard that's as big as a whole village. People used to live and work on that land and give some of the things they made or grew to the zamindar, like food or clothes.

The zamindar used to be a really important person because they had control over the people who lived and worked on their land. But sometimes they weren't very nice and would treat people badly or force them to give too much of what they made.

Nowadays, there aren't really any zamindars anymore because the government changed things so that people can own their own land and have more control over their lives. So it's kind of like a piece of history that we can learn about.
