Jagirdar

Jagirdar is a fancy word for a person who was given a big piece of land as a gift by the king or queen of the land a long time ago. The jagirdar was in charge of taking care of the land and making sure everything was running smoothly. This land usually had lots of resources like crops, animals, and minerals that the jagirdar could use to make money. In exchange for this gift, the jagirdar was required to protect the land and pay taxes to the king or queen. Think of it like getting a huge toy box full of toys from your parents, but you have to promise to keep them all safe and pay them back with good behavior.
