Zipf law

Zipf's Law is a special rule that says if you look at a really big list of words or other things, the most common or popular one will appear twice as often as the second most common one, three times as often as the third most common one, and so on. This pattern keeps going until you get to the least common or popular ones, which only show up a few times. It's like counting snacks in a big bag – the ones you like the most will be in there the most, and the ones you don't like as much will be in there less.

This rule is named after a guy named George Zipf who noticed it when he was studying different languages. He found that if you look at the words in a book or a speech in any language, the pattern will still be the same, no matter what language it is. Zipf's Law is really cool because it can help people predict and understand things like which words we use the most or what topics are the most popular, just by looking at how often they show up in a big list or dataset.
