Mehrgarh is a place where people lived a looong time ago, even before your grandparents were born! It's in a country called Pakistan.

People used to live in little houses made out of mud and they would grow their own food like wheat and barley. They also started to keep animals like goats and sheep, which they could use for milk and meat.

People in Mehrgarh were very clever and made things like pottery, which is like bowls and jars made out of clay. They also made tools out of stone, like axes and knives.

Mehrgarh was a very important place for people to live because it was near a river, which meant they could get water easily and could also use the water to grow their crops. Eventually, the people who lived in Mehrgarh started to build bigger cities and towns and became even more advanced!
