501(c) organization

A 501(c) organization is a type of nonprofit organization that is recognized by the U.S. government as being tax-exempt, which means they don’t have to pay certain taxes. There are different types of 501(c) organizations with different purposes, such as charitable or educational organizations, religious organizations, and social clubs. These organizations have to apply to become a 501(c) organization and they have to follow certain rules and regulations to maintain their tax-exempt status. Overall, they are organizations that people start to do good things for others without worrying about making money or paying certain taxes.
