Day care is like going to school but it's for little kids who are too young to go to regular school yet.
When parents need to go to work or do other things, they can't always take their kids with them, so they bring their kids to a special place called day care.
At day care, there are lots of other kids to play with and grown-ups who take care of them. The grown-ups are called teachers or caretakers, and they make sure the kids stay safe and have fun.
There are toys, games, and activities to do, like drawing or playing outside. Kids also get to eat snacks and lunch at day care.
Parents drop off their kids in the morning and pick them up when they're done with work or errands. That way, kids can have a fun time playing with their friends, and parents can get things done without worrying about their kids being alone or bored.
