969 Movement

The 969 movement is a political campaign in Myanmar (Burma). Its name comes from the three numbers that it stands for: 9, 6 and 9. The 9 represents the Buddhist nationalism of the movement and the 6 and 9 stand for the six principles of the movement and the nine beliefs. These principles and beliefs are based on Buddhist teachings about protecting and preserving the Buddhist community.
