Access control list

An access control list (ACL) is like a list of rules to help control who has permission to do what. Imagine it like a list of rules at a playground. It would say who is allowed on the playground, what they can do, and what not to do. For example, an ACL could say that children between 5 and 10 years old are allowed to play on the playground, but they are not allowed to climb on the slide. All these rules together make up an access control list.
