ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Acts 15

Okay kiddo, so in Acts 15, there were some people who were preaching that in order to be a good Christian, you had to follow certain old Jewish rules like getting circumcised (which is a procedure that might seem scary to a little one like you).

Now, some other people didn't think that was necessary for people who wanted to follow Jesus. They thought that as long as you believed in Jesus and lived a good life, that was enough.

So, they had a big meeting to talk about it (like a family meeting when you have a disagreement). They listened to both sides, and then they decided together that people didn't have to follow all those Jewish rules in order to be good Christians. They could just focus on loving God and loving other people, and that was the most important thing.

So in the end, everyone was happy, and they continued spreading the message of Jesus together, without arguing about small things that didn't really matter.
