Albinism in biology

Albinism is when someone or something is not able to make a very important substance that helps to color things in our body, called melanin. It's like having a magic marker that runs out of ink so everything you try to color with it ends up being a very light color or white.

Melanin is like the paintbrush that colors our skin, hair, and eyes. People with albinism have a hard time coloring these things in because their bodies can't make enough melanin. This can make their skin, hair, and eyes very light or even white.

This doesn't mean that people with albinism are sick, though! It's just something different about their bodies that makes them stand out. Some animals, like rabbits or squirrels, can also have albinism.

People with albinism also have to be careful when they are outside or in the sun because their skin doesn't have as much protection from the sun's harmful rays, so they can get sunburned more easily. They might wear clothes that cover their skin and hats to keep the sun off their faces.

Overall, albinism is something that makes people or animals unique and special, but it also means taking extra care of their skin and eyes to stay healthy.
