ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Alu (runic)

Okay, so if you ever see people writing in weird symbols that look like they were carved into stone, they might be using something called the "runic alphabet." One of the letters in this alphabet is called "alu" and it looks like two little sticks with lines coming off them.

Now, "alu" doesn't really mean anything by itself, just like how the letter "B" by itself doesn't really mean anything. But if you put "alu" together with other runic letters, it can make words or phrases.

Some people might use "alu" as a kind of magic symbol or talisman, like a little charm to bring good luck or protection. But mostly it's just a cool looking letter that's part of an ancient alphabet that some people like to use for writing or decoration.
