Animal locomotion is when animals use their bodies to move around. Different animals move in different ways, depending on what they are best at. For example, snakes have long bodies and can stretch out, so they sway and wriggle as they move. Birds have wings, so they can fly. Fish have flippers so they can swim. Some animals, like humans, can walk on their two feet. Other animals, like cats and dogs, have four feet and can run and jump. Some animals, such as lizards, can even climb on things! All of these are ways for animals to move around and explore the world.
