Approach and departure angles

Approach and departure angles are measurements related to the shape of a vehicle like a car or truck. Approach angle is measured from the ground to the lowest part of the vehicle and the departure angle is measured from the ground to the highest part of the vehicle.

When you are driving your car up a hill, your approach angle measures how steep the hill is, and the departure angle measures how steep the hill is going down the other side. If the approach angle or departure angle are too steep, then your car might get stuck or scrape the ground and get damaged.
