Aristocracy is a kind of government where the power is held by a small group of wealthy people, usually people who are related to each other or members of the same family. This small group of people, usually called aristocrats, make most of the decisions about how the country is run, such as laws, taxes, and rights for people living in that country. It is sometimes called a 'dictatorship of the rich'. It is different from democracy, where the power is held by all of the people.
