Asteroid deflection strategies

When asteroids are coming too close to Earth, we sometimes need to use special strategies to prevent them from hitting us. We call this "deflecting" the asteroids. We do this by hitting them with rockets so that they move in a different direction and eventually miss Earth. People also come up with different strategies, like building a huge net or shooting lasers at them, to keep the asteroids away.
