ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Authorship analysis

Authorship analysis is like trying to figure out who wrote a story, even if they didn't put their name on it. It's like when your teacher asks you to write a story and then tries to guess who wrote each story without looking at the names on the paper.

People who do authorship analysis look at things like the words and sentences used in a piece of writing, how many times certain words are used, and even the spelling and grammar mistakes. They then compare all these things to other pieces of writing that they know who wrote it to try to figure out who the mystery author might be.

It's kind of like being a detective trying to solve a mystery, except instead of clues like footprints and fingerprints, they look at words and language patterns.
