Awning

An awning is like a big umbrella that you put up outside your house or store to keep the sun, rain, or snow off of you. It can be made of different materials like canvas or metal and it can be different shapes and sizes. Some awnings are attached to the wall of your house, while others are freestanding on their own. They can also be retractable, which means you can pull them back when you don't need them, like when it's a nice day outside. So basically, an awning helps protect you from the weather when you're outside.
