ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bibliographer

A bibliographer is someone who helps people find books and information about them. They keep track of all the books that have been written and try to figure out which ones are the most important or relevant to a certain topic.

Imagine you are in a library and you want to learn about monkeys. You go up to the librarian and ask her to help you find some books about monkeys. The librarian might call on a bibliographer to help her find the best books for you.

The bibliographer would first look through all the books in the library that have to do with monkeys. They would read through the titles and summaries of each book and decide which ones have the most information or are the most interesting.

Then they would help the librarian pick out the best books for you to read. They might even write a list of all the books they found so you can keep track of them.

Overall, a bibliographer helps people find the books they need and makes sure they are finding the best and most useful information.
