Bill of rights

A Bill of Rights is a list of things that the government cannot do to you. It was written by the Founding Fathers of the United States so that every American would have certain rights protected from the government. These rights include things like religious freedom, the right to bear firearms, freedom of speech, the right to a fair trial, and the right to be protected from searches and seizures without a proper warrant. Even though the government can't take away these rights without reason, it is the responsibility of everyone to make sure everyone else's rights are respected and protected.
