International human rights instruments

An International Human Rights Instrument is a written agreement that countries sign to make sure that people all around the world have access to basic rights like the right to live, right to an education, right to a job, right to be free from torture, and right to access healthcare. When a country signs an International Human Rights Instrument, they agree to provide these rights to everyone who lives in their country. As long as the countries are following the rules of the instrument, people in those countries have the same basic rights, no matter what country they are from.
