Border checkpoint

A border checkpoint is a place where people go when they want to cross between two different countries. It's like a special gate where the people who work there check to make sure that everyone who wants to come in or leave the country has the right papers and is allowed to do so. They also make sure that nothing bad or dangerous is coming in or going out of the country. Think of it like when you go into your house and your mom or dad checks to make sure you don't have any mud on your shoes and that you're not carrying anything that could cause a mess or hurt anyone. That's kind of what the people at the border checkpoint do, but on a much bigger scale.
