ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Brevet (cycling)

A brevet is when a group of people ride their bikes together for a set distance, often 100-1200 km (that’s like riding from your house to grandma’s and back again 6 times!).

They start early in the morning and must finish within a certain time. Along the way, they stop at checkpoints where they get their card stamped to prove they completed that part of the ride.

It’s a big challenge and takes a lot of training and preparation, but it’s also a lot of fun and a great way to see new places and meet new friends who also love riding their bikes.
