ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

CRISPR

Crispr stands for 'Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats'. It's a new way of editing genes in living things. It lets scientists take out genes that cause diseases, like cancer, and replace them with genes that don't cause the disease. They do this by using a special type of molecule called 'Cas9'. Cas9 helps scientists cut out the bad genes and replace them with good ones. It's like using a pair of scissors or a pair of tools to replace a broken part with a working one. This means that scientists can help stop diseases and make things healthier.
