ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Causal inference

Causal inference is the process of understanding what would happen if something changed. It is like doing an experiment where you change one thing and see how it affects something else. For example, if you wanted to understand how eating different types of food affects your health, you could do an experiment to see how it changes your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, or weight. By making comparisons between the different foods, you can draw conclusions about which food might be better for your health.
