Chicana Feminism is a type of feminism that focuses on the issues and experiences of Chicana (a term used to describe Mexican-American women) women in the United States. Chicana Feminists believe that all women should be treated equally and work to create a society where women of all backgrounds get to pursue the same opportunities as men. They draw on both Mexican and American cultures to inform their struggle for justice and are also committed to issues of social justice, such as poverty and immigration.
